About Gene Wright

Teaching Experience

Gene Wright is an Assistant Professor at the Rader School of Business and the Pieper Family Foundation Endowed Chair for Servant-Leadership at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). Prior to joining MSOE full-time, he taught graduate and undergraduate courses as an adjunct professor for over 25 years, including appointments at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Lubar School of Business. His teaching expertise spans New Product Development Management, Innovation Management, Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Marketing. At UWM, Wright also served as the Lubar Executive MBA Program Director and conducted executive education workshops for corporate clients.

Business Ownership

Wright is an entrepreneur and business founder with extensive experience in technology and manufacturing. He was an owner and principal of Netconcepts LLC and Netconcepts LTD NZ, firms that specialized in optimization, and ASP-based services for e‑mail marketing and e‑commerce. He also co founded Combined Technologies, Inc., which engineered and manufactured high-voltage current integrated marketing strategies, search engine-limiting fuses.

Corporate Career

His corporate career includes serving as Milwaukee Practice Director for BORN, a business consulting and information technology services provider, and as Director of R&D, Director of Global e-Business and National Sales Manager at Brady Corporation, a manufacturer of identification products. Wright's e-business strategy work has been documented in an MIT case study. His career at Brady Corporation also included leadership roles as Director of Research and Development, Manager of Product Development, National Sales Manager, and Engineering Services Manager. He began his professional career as an application engineer at RTE Corporation.

Wright holds three U.S. patents for his technical innovations.
